This is Lesley's debut adult historical novel with a dual timeline; it combines the present and the Second World War. She finished this in August 2023 and is now looking for an agent. The plot is about a woman, Sarah, who escapes from and abusive marriage and buys a cottage near Ringmer in East Sussex, Soon after moving in, she finds a diary behind some bricks in her fireplace, written by a woman called Evelyn Brinkhurst from 1938. Sarah links this to the weeping she hears at night in her spare bedroom, and believes the cottage is haunted by Eve's ghost. Sarah has been psychic from a young age, and decides she must help this tragic woman, who has her own secrets to hide. Now Sarah must be one step ahead from her brutal husband, while attempting to help Eve, who also had an abusive past. She is helped by two friends and Paul, a private detective, who is in love with her. After Eve helps Sarah to escape, Paul tracks down Eve's daughter. But all is not as it seems.
